Karol Adamiecki University of Economics in Katowice is located in the southern part of Poland, in one of the country's fastest-developing regions. Founded in 1937, it is the only state university specializing in economics and business studies in Upper Silesia, and one of the top universities in the country. Drawing from our long experience in enhancing students' development in the intellectual and professional sense, we have created modern, interactive programmes designed to provide students with the skills essential to build their professional careers in the multicultural environment. Each year, over 13,000 Polish and international students follow our degree programmes at the Bachelor, Master, Doctoral and Post-diploma levels. In 2006 we underwent the EUA Institutional Evaluation Programme. Our excellence is confirmed by full state accreditation.
International orientation
The University cooperates successfully with higher education institutions and companies worldwide on the basis of over 400 agreements. We have developed an extensive teacher and student exchange under various international programmes. We also provide our students with a unique opportunity to extend their practical knowledge, acquire intercultural skills and gain professional experience during work placements in foreign companies. The

international networks such as EUA, EAIE,
ERACON, EURASHE, NAFSA, and Prime
Networking. Moreover, the University runs joint degree programmes in English and French, mobility schemes and research projects in various fields with partners from all over the world.

International Study Programmes
Euroclasses
International short-term students can choose from a wide range of courses offered by three of our faculties: Economics, Finance & Insurance and Management. The courses comprising the programme are provided mainly in English, with some classes in French and German. Joint Master Degree Programme in European Business and Finance. The programme is provided by three prestigious universities: Nottingham Trent University (UK), Brno University of Technology (Czech Republic) and the UEK (Poland). During the first two semesters students follow courses at the Faculty of Finance and Insurance in Katowice. The final part comprises one semester at Nottingham Trent University and a one-semester-long work placement. Graduates receive a Master diploma awarded by the three universities. ARIMA. Joint Master Degree Programme in Quantitative Asset and Risk Management provided by University of Applied Sciences BFI Vienna, Anglo-American University in Prague and UEK. The graduates' fields of professional activity lie in banking and insurance, enterprise-related services, market authorities and public administration. More info www.arima.interrel.pl.
Pre-MBA. The programme is part of the Continuing Education Center study offer in the field of management. On completing two semesters of studies, either in Katowice or in Brno, the students can start the English-language MBA programme at Brno University of Technology. "Project Management" post – diploma studies. The programme is delivered jointly with a network of state universities of the Province of Quebec in Canada. The network has a broad experience in running specialist studies in Project Management. The offer is designed for managers of both business organizations and state or local administration units.
